Baitrunner: Behind the Best Shimano Reels

Baitrunner: Behind the Best Shimano Reels

Do you love fishing? During the early years, fishing was the primary means of livelihood. Fishermen explore the sea to get the biggest fish and take them home to their families. But today, fishing does not only mean catching and harvesting fish to provide food. Fishing now has been modernized and has become a sport-either for recreation or for profession. When in the traditional fishing, fisherman uses fishing techniques such as arrows, throw nets, dragnets, rod, tackle, and harpoons. Now, there are other equipments, such as baitrunner, that have come out to make fishing more fun, exciting, and challenging.

Fishing for Sport Activity

Fishing as recreational sport can be for pure pleasure or it can also be for competition. In the years 1600s and 1700s, fishing as a recreation started. Fishing reels like the now popularly available Shimano baitrunner were then used in conjunction with fishing rods. Since recreational fishing is covered with licensing laws and rules and different restrictions, the use of nets and other traditional methods are strictly prohibited. Commonly, recreational fishing involves the use of different equipments that include but not limited to:

1. Fishing tackle. It is a basic gear or equipment that is used for fishing. Among them are rods, reels, lures and bait, lines, nets, downriggers, trawls, gaffs and harpoons, outriggers, floats, clevises, and traps.

2. Terminal tackle. It is a fishing gear that is used as an attachment to a fishing line end. Examples of these are hooks, leaders, swivels, sinkers, and snaps among others.

Shimano Baitrunner for Recreation

The most familiar practice of catching fish for recreation is the use of reels. There are so many available reels being sold but the baitrunner reel is mostly used by several fishing aficionados. It is almost the same with a fixed spool reel but is known for its baitrunner feature. This feature allows the baiting of fish even with its bail closed and still leaving the rest of the reel in free spool. The tension of the total free spool can then be adjusted with a finger screw found at the rear of the Shimano reel depending on the bait used. This is to keep the bait in place based on the desired area. If using a dead bait, tensions is loose, and when fishing using live bait, the tension is tighter.

One of the most durable reels in the market today is the Shimano baitrunner. There are three baitrunner models for you to choose from:
 Baitrunner reels 3500
 Baitrunner reels 4500
 Baitrunner reels 6500

Among the special features of the Shimano baitrunner are:
 Aluminum Spool
 Oversized Power Roller
 XT7 Body
 Dyna Balance

All the available baitrunners prove to be excellent and always dependable Shimano reels that are fit for fishing in both freshwater and salt water. And you can have the baitrunner series at the most affordable prizes. These are available at Sea Isle Tackle, the shop for all your fishing needs.

Robert Fuering is the owner of Sea Isle Tackle, a fisher’s paradise and treasure trove. Visit us on the web at http://www.seaisletackle.com for our immense selection of gear including Shimano Saltwater Reels and the Baitrunner by Shimano.

Have you ever been “burned” on the purchase of a fancy “NEW” fishing reel/rod?

Question by Ole Fisherman: Have you ever been “burned” on the purchase of a fancy “NEW” fishing reel/rod?
Did you ever get suckered into buying an “All-the-Bells-&-Whistles” off-brand reel and found out you shoulda just stuck with the Big 3,(Shimano, Daiwa, Penn)?

I’ve stupidly, (to save money) , paid for & got “burned” by Okuma, Cabelas, Basspro, & (drum-roll) Pinnacle! I got a reel from each of these company’s and it had an issue/issues either immed or right AFTER the warranty expired! (Arghhhh!)

Anybody else buy cheap fishing gear to save money and wish they had “gone with what they knew” to be good?
