“Guides” as they are referred to are made from a variety of materials, depending on type of rod, line and weight. Here is a link to a rod building supply company with lots of different kinds of “eyes”.

Hope this helps!
Happy catching!
most of them are made of stainless steel.
many have ceramic or silicon oxide inserts so they won’t get cut by the line.
braids are particularly rough on guides. they require very hard rings so as not to get cut.
Usually made of Nikel
Different rods have different eyes in number and kind .
Some use 9 and ceramic is the popular one , but most of the upper end rods have gone to the new pop up titanium guides . Most rod builders use nine eyes , but St. Croix is one that uses 10 on every rod . They are tremendous rods .
